Not good for our mental or physical health.
Itās just that most of us donāt have the tools to approach problems differently. When problems occur, we worry, get anxious and try to fix them. Even though we donāt have all the answers and the facts surrounding the issue weāre worried about are still murky, we take excessive action.
Itās just what weāre used to doing, right?
But there is another way.
Now Iām not saying this works for every problem, and the magic to this is knowing when to apply it, but it can almost seem miraculous when you do.
Over a decade ago, I found myself looking at the collapse of a business that Iād committed years of time and energy towards. At the end of that stressful period, I was so beaten and tired, I was ready to throw in the towel, but for some reason, I had a shift in perspective.
What if I got out of my way and trusted that my problems would resolve themselves.
This wasnāt the way I had ever handled challenges, but I was burnt out and exhausted. So I did it.
And with some minor involvement on my part, it worked itself out. If we take an honest look back on our lives, we will see weāve had many instances where our problems resolved themselves when weĀ trusted that life knows what itās doing.
For me, it came to me quietly without any fanfare, and I just knew it was right.
Often, circumstances will fix themselves with little or no participation on our behalf. Itās difficult sometimes to know whether we need to take action or leave things alone. My advice for that is to sit quietly with your problem and let it guide you.
As I said, thatās the magic.
Obviously, there are matters where immediate action is required, such as our health, finances, career or relationships. But within that broad-spectrum, there are many opportunities we can use to let go.
How willing are you to try it?
Youāve been trying the same methods every time you face a bump in the road. Remember what they say about doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result.
Madness.
Youāll develop a sense of when you can apply this principle but only through experience. Get out of your own way and keep your wits about you. A resolution will emerge better than you can imagine. It requires faith, practice, patience, and the willingness to try something that not many people understand.
But youāre simply working with the natural order.
Go ahead; try it.
