I’ve done nothing grandiose. It may sound sexy, but it does not require a particular type of person To pull it off. Like everything I do, I keep it simple.
All you need to know is what you want, the ability to make a decision and the determination to never give up.
And That’s when it gets real.
Following through with this decision is tough, and most people you’ve come across have opted not to. You’re going against the grain, and it will prove to be one of the most challenging thing you have done.
But honestly, gentle reader, nothing is more worthwhile.
Be prepared to be attacked.
The system will target all the weak points you share with the other humans on the planet. Because to be average and mediocre, you need to drink too much, overeat, smoke, never exercise, spend more than you earn, buy frivolously, take no risks and fear intimacy.
Some of these options have no immediate blowback, and you feel good about the choices you make. Couple that with the media reinforcing these ideas, and you’re feeling good. But much later, you’re burnt out, and you look around to see others living the healthy, wealthy, fulfilled life you could have lived if you had made the right choices; you realize you’ve messed up.
The crowd doesn’t like when you leave its fold. Doesn't want you to be different. Society will try and discourage you, ridicule you, destroy you if it has to because you’ve found a better way for yourself, and that’s not permitted.
The world isn’t set up to cater to extraordinary people. It can’t stop you, but it won’t encourage you. It’s like an unspoken rule that Individuals with self-discipline, vision, grit and purpose must be tested, and everything gets thrown at you.
It’s hard to be extraordinary at anything, but this is what I believe.
For those of us with aspirations of greatness, we have set goals for ourselves. Lofty one’s. Some we will achieve, and others we won’t. What is more important than the goals themselves is the process that leads to them, the person you became because of them and the unrelenting commitment you have to personal development because you are constantly setting new goals for yourself.
Always.
That, to me, gentle reader is extraordinary living.
We are the ones that push against the status quo, the top performers, those that excel, those that help build the future and the only ones willing to move away from the majority middle to the extreme edges.
You’re an agent of change, family.
Escape the cage of conformity and never look back.
