I've come to realize through all its tricks, it wants to keep you thinking small. I discovered it's the journey, not the goal itself, that determines the person we become. I've allowed life to pull the wool over my eyes for so long now that I thought that's the way it should be.
Life is supposed to test you; that's what it does.
Haven't you ever reached a goal before, and the result felt hollow somehow, leaving you to think, Is this it? I've often been so focused on the end product that I squandered the experience of getting there. Once I understood I was wasting the juice of my existence by not appreciating my journey, I made it a priority to recognize it daily. Here's the exciting part.
When I wanted to give up in those dark times, and my brain is churning out stupid-ass reasons to justify that idea, I stop and consider the journey.
It's not the achievement of the goal but the person you become in pursuit of that goal that's important. If I had never set myself up to become a bestselling author, I would never have learned all the skills that go into writing and marketing a work of fiction. I'd be a different person.
I know you're tired but never give up because success is closer than you think. Most people are looking for certainty, and just the thought of putting your heart and soul into something only to see it fail turns off the majority of people.
But you're not the majority of people.
You gentle reader have determined that consistent dedication is paramount because our daily habits ultimately lead toward the path of success.
Life knows that if you foster an indestructible passion, never contemplate failure as an option and remain flexible, you are unstoppable. You may find life has another goal for you, but that's okay being flexible is important. Be prepared for the misdirection, half-truths, and challenges that will come your way because life won't give up its treasures without testing you.
Stay on the path. If we're blessed with life, we will have a tomorrow to look forward to. The best is yet to come.
