We don’t always get what we want short-term in the real world, but we come out of the situation better no matter what happens. As long as our efforts are worthwhile and our accomplishments challenge and stretch us beyond our immediate capabilities, no matter the circumstance, you benefit. It’s daunting making decisions and not being privy to all the facts. And it’s because of that possibility of failure why we make excuses and create reasons why we shouldn’t
make an attempt. We justify not achieving our goals because we lack the courage to fail.
The courage to fail helps you to attempt your plans when you are not guaranteed any automatic success. It is about taking a step towards your goals, even when there are chances of failing. It is about following your instincts when everything else around you is telling you to shrink back. The highly successful have this quality; they move forward, despite the possibility of failing. They dare to fail.
Without the courage to fail, you won’t attempt; and without attempting, you can’t know if you will succeed.
Fear has been the challenge I deal with most in my career, and what I’ve learned is you never completely rid yourself of it. Fear is something you manage, and the most successful people in our society manage it differently. I’ve learned that some things cannot be avoided and must be faced head-on. My strategy to get it done is to switch to automatic.
I don’t think it; I just do it.
My lizard brain will immediately start asking stupid questions, and I just counter them with sensible empowering questions and stay the course.
It’s uncomfortable and painful when your work is harshly criticized, but that possibility will not stop me from writing the next book and sharing my ideas.
To win, you have to be willing to fail. It’s as simple as that.
There’s a good reason why you’re asked to think positively in your day-to-day endeavors. Negativity clogs up your creative potential. You find excuses and not solutions when you think there is no way out. It’s just counterproductive.
So even when failure is a possibility, that is no reason for you not to go into a project or take part in the mission because win, lose or draw, you will exit the situation so much better than you entered.
Napoleon Hill said:
Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it has the seed of an equal or greater benefit.
And I wholeheartedly believe that.
A plan that you set in motion that did not succeed is better than the ones in your brain that you never execute.
Go out there, take action, fail, learn and win.
