I’m not very patient.
It’s a skill I need to consistently work at because it trips me up all the time. I’ve been thinking non-stop about my own journey and those of the people society deems successful. And the one thing they have in common is like bamboo, they first focused on feeding their roots. As a result, they achieved success by making sure their foundation was strong and maintaining its strength. You have to embrace the delicate combination of persistence mixed with patience and make the decision to show up
again. And again. And again.Â
As a result, the world will reward you sooner or later.
The process can hurt because when you give your all, you put your best out there, and you get rejected, you need a special kind of insanity to keep going.
Bamboos are beautiful plants and hence the Chinese fascination with them, but it’s not just its aesthetic that makes it unique but the poetry of how it grows. Like the Bamboo Tree, you must pour in the effort every day without any reward or expectation. Real growth begins in the roots, the foundations. They must be strong first, and they will only grow strong through patience and consistent hard work. Every time you quit, you pull up your roots and begin again.
You will not see results right away.
Stay in the game.
Becoming a bestselling author will take everything I have to give, and I know that. Your goals will take everything out of you, too, but now you have the wisdom to understand that you’re strengthening your roots, and one day you’ll be ready to explode into the world.
