But because of your consistent daily actions.
You are plotting where you will be in the next 10 years, you just don't know you're doing it.
People talk about their futures all the time but talk is cheap. It's the things you do, your choices, your actions on a consistent basis that will dictate your destination. And yet still, we fool ourselves into thinking there is another hidden mechanism at work.
I can see why you would think that, though. Achieving your big goals most times is a slow process. Only when you're in the trenches, do you realize the time and patience it takes. The changes are almost imperceptible in the moment unless you pay attention. And because of this, you never plan to blow up your life in one fell swoop. That's not the way it works. It happens slowly. It occurs through the smallest wrong choices, constantly made over time.
A movie you watched this weekend could change the way that you think about your life. Tomorrow you could read a book that changes your life forever. You may have finally decided to invest in the stock market and it helps you to leave your job and pursue your passion. The small seed of a brand that you started as a side project grows into a recognisable mark or message across social media.
It's magical if you think about it.
Your actions right now will define your tomorrows.
What you are doing in effect is foreshadowing what you're going to be doing later. That's all there is to it.
When I discovered this for myself, it changed my perception of what was possible for me. And it should be a game-changer for you too.
So here is the question we should be asking ourselves.
What action can we take every day to improve our health, improve our well-being, scale up our finances, and bust through our goals?
If you want to be an artist, draw. If you're going to stay fit, keep exercising. If you're going to contribute to equality in the world, then step up to the plate and make a difference now.
Consciously and unconsciously, every single day you are actively creating your life. If you want a different outcome, make today a different day because now determines who you become. Like my brother-in-law's tragic death taught me, some things are beyond our control. All we can do is hang on to the things we can control and use them.
