I’ve worked with talented writers in the past, who, if talent was the only prerequisite to becoming a great writer, then they were made. But fortunately for those among us without these gifts, hard work and awareness of yourself play a role too.
Extraordinary and successful people almost always have a crystal-clear vision for their future. They know why they’re doing the things they do. The only reason people get stuck is when the path is murky and cluttered.
And that's  the state 95% of the world occupies.
Â
But if you want more success than 95% of the world, you have to have more clarity than 95% of the world. Because once you have clarity — one you figure out the price of your success — you can make real steps towards actually achieving it.
Â
That’s a superpower the system doesn’t want you to have. All around you are people with no direction except for the direction given to them from there jobs, social media, games, and any other distractions that takes them away from their purpose.Â
Clarifying your intention and paying the price.
Â
It’s hard paying the price.
Â
There have been days, weeks, months, or even years of struggle in some of our lives, working 2 jobs (or more), having bills you were barely able to pay, and some that went unpaid. And don’t forget the times you failed. The many, many, many, times it did not work. Times of doubt, times of deep soul searching, and times you thought about giving up, but you just couldn’t do it….
Â
And do you know why you couldn’t Gentle Reader? Let me tell you. Because you know your path and have come to terms with paying the price. After all, it’s the only way to get to that goal.
Â
What I’m saying is be honest with yourself. Don’t go into anything that will have a significant impact on your life without doing your homework. Before you go all out, come to terms with what you will need to do and who you must become. Once You Know the Price, Start Paying It.
Â
There are some things in life. I know I’ll never have because I know the price and its cost, and I’m not willing to pay it. It’s that simple. We all have a different price to pay. I’m a black man writing speculative fiction in a world that has actively tried to exclude and stifle our contribution to the genre entertainment industry. That is what I chose, and if I want to make a dent in the universe with my work, I better get comfortable paying the
price.
Get clarity. No excuses, family. Let’s just do it.
