Although the world will not teach, or even encourage you to become extraordinary, this life is still available to anyone who is brave enough or motivated enough to carve their own path in order to live the life they want. The one thing that is so liberating about being extraordinary is only you can decide on what that means for you. What makes me extraordinary is hardwired into me and what makes you extraordinary is hardwired into you. Nobody else can copy your
impact, but to have that effect takes consistent work.
Okay, I know life is no fairy tale, and I’d be the last person to tell you that. From my experience, even if you work hard and set yourself apart from the ordinary, not everything will work out just right.
That is the way.
There are so many factors that come into play when that even with the best intentions, there are some goals you set for yourself will not materialise precisely how you imagined. Ultimately, there is no certain formula for living an extraordinary life. But there’s one thing I know for sure: if you strive for an extraordinary life, whether you surpass your goal, hit it, or fall short, you will have most certainly improved your life. And it will only get better
if you continue on the path.
That for me is what being extraordinary is all about. Making a difference in the world. That’s why I know in my heart of hearts I’m doing the right thing for me. What about you? How can you be extraordinary?
I created Marksman Studios and the Urban Fantastic genre because I didn’t want to be an ordinary author. I wanted to create stories that packed action and dramatic punch into its pages, with familiar themes but using characters that have been mainly ignored in sci-fi, horror, fantasy, and action genres. Check out my brand story Here. I didn’t ask for permission to become extraordinary, I just did it. You can do it too. Just keep these two points in mind when you decide that the extraordinary is your goal.
1. Never Accept the Rules by Which Other People Operate.
Remember what I said. To accept being ordinary, you need to function how the majority of human beings function. You become a homogeneous part of the great majority, and that will not set you apart.
You deserve better.
Entrepreneur Grant Cardone said it best:
“Never play by the agreed-upon norms within which others operate. The rules, norms, and traditions of any group or industry are usually traps that prevent new ideas, higher levels of greatness, and domination.”
2. Spend Your Time Creating, Rather Than Consuming.
I always say to my kids that the brands and celebrities they support are focused on creating. The institutions and the people who make changes in the world are not spending all their resources or time on consuming things made by other people; instead, they’re spending it getting where they want to be in life.
What’s the fun of watching the blow by blow video account or a worts and all blog exposé of a celebrity’s path to success? You need to be out there doing it for yourself.
You want to be extraordinary? Don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd; be very afraid of fitting in.
Why fit in when you were born to stand out?
