But some would argue that giving up could be an opportunity to start something fresh. Okay, that makes sense but realize any worthwhile endeavor will take time. The same time factor you felt was an issue with your first goal, is the same time factor that will be a consideration with any worthwhile goal.. There are no real shortcuts in life, and why would you want them anyway. The challenge and the resistance will mold you into the kind of person you need to be
to produce the results you want. Just remember you’ll find value and reward in the journey too. There are lots of little wins you will accumulate as you work towards your goal. It’s easy to let these experiences pass you by and not recognize the significance until you reflect on them months or even years later. Why do you think worthwhile goals take time? Because to become the person to fulfill that goal or passion requires mastery and mastery takes time.
One hour per day of study in your chosen field is all it takes. One hour per day of study will put you at the top of your field within three years. Within five years, you’ll be a national authority. In seven years, you can be one of the best people in the world at what you do — Earl Nightingale
I believe that to be true. It takes longer for some things shorter for others. But the principle of being an authority in your chosen field with consistent effort is a powerhouse idea which is simple but life-changing.
Imagine short-circuiting all that potential by giving up. That’s how dreams die.
And that’s why I believe that every second of every day should be spent chasing them no matter what. Just don’t do what so many others have done by believing your dreams don’t matter - they do.
