If it costs you your peace, it is too expensive. — Tenzin Gyatso
The 14th Dalai Lama If I had an option of reaching my goals free of panic, anxiety, and stress, I would grab for it with both hands. But there are some people who believe it can’t be done. Drama is part of the process.
I don't think that. Eliminating the negatives entirely from your life would require a gargantuan effort of mental reframing the Buddha himself would be proud of. No matter what you do, you will be impacted by other peoples drama and that's not necessarily a bad thing as long as you don't give it any focus or energy. Do not feed or create it. It's all about a simple life.
And I don’t mean a life devoid of spirit or grit. Just one where the unnecessary is left at the side of the road. Life has its challenges already and sometimes it can feel downright unfair and cruel, but our job as humans is to reframe these disappointments and setbacks so they can serve us not destroy us. Drama is excess baggage, and we need to be nimble and fleet of foot. Maybe because I’m older and realize the simple life works why make it
complicated. So what about the strategies of making life simple. We need to talk about what we can subtract from our lives. All that unnecessary fluff can weigh you down and impair your performance. We need to travel light for the simple life, right.
So what about the strategies of making life simple. We need to talk about what we can subtract from our lives. All that unnecessary fluff can weigh you down and impair your performance. We need to travel light for the simple life,
right. Here’s some guidance
- Money - Keep it simple - Do not use credit cards for frivolous purchases. Pay yourself first, save 10% of your earnings and only spend what you earn.
- Time - Keep it simple - Use your moments productively. Invest your time. Ask yourself, will what I’m doing to improve my life, my mood, my wealth, my family or my
community.
- Focus - Keep it simple - Be productive - get the important things done and keep the focus on the main priorities in your life. Isolate yourself from noise, negativity and of course drama.
- Distractions - Keep it simple - Ask yourself. Will these actions allow me to use my time wisely. Pick your battles. Drop whatever is leading you away from your
purpose.
- Space - Keep it simple - Your environment/home/ office needs to be uncluttered and free. Clothes, books, furniture, and Nik-Nak that are not being used must be recycled for others or removed. No storage of stuff. For me, free and straightforward surroundings makes me more creative.
- Health - keep it simple - Exercise, eat a balanced diet daily and
hydrate.
There is a pattern to creating a simple life. Keep asking yourself the question, what can be removed from my life without it impairing my happiness and productivity.
Perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add but when there is no longer anything to take
away.
Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Does it spark joy? that is the main question asked by the book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying. It's a question you ask when you are trying to simplify your surrounding of clutter. This is just one part of the act of simplifying your life by simplifying your surroundings. It may not be for everyone as it has a distinct Japanese and spiritual component to it. And I'm not saying that the ideas in its pages are completely original but The Life Changing Magic of Tidying has a methodology that works and should not be discounted because of it. Get the book and experiment. It's worth it. Peace, love and Power & Kwa Heri, Kings and Queens
