History is rife with civilizations and individuals who destroyed themselves because of complacency. Why are so many people sleepwalking through their life content and uninspired?
I’m not talking about greed but a kind of pervasive contentment that kills ambition and progress. You are
either growing or declining, and in nature, there are no halfways.
I remember how satisfied I felt when I completed my supernatural thriller Bad Ii the Bone. Looking back on it my smug satisfaction had me feeling good about myself, after all, completing that arduous task was hard work. A lot of my fellow writers get caught in that trap of complacency, taking on the praise and believing the hype. I woke up to the fallacy quickly and I respectfully injected my situation with some
inspirational dissatisfaction. I went on the hunt for something that could help me improve my standards and I came across
Mark Dawson's Advertising for Authors. What a difference that made.
Seek, and you will find the good book said.
Well, I followed my
internal urging and embarked on the journey of getting my books read by as many people as possible with no excuses and things changed, thanks to
Mark Dawson's Advertising for Authors. I'm learning everyday, growing and even when it's difficult, I keep doing what
must be done. I’d love to be able to see immediate results from my efforts, but this kind of meaningful work takes time and patience. But I can see immediate results and a massive shift in how I will engage with readers a year from now.
