No one can do this for you. You have to take ownership.

You are stepping out on convention and the tribe will not like that.

They want you to keep on doing what your doing. You are told to work on someone else's shit and to forget about your own aspirations. Some of us will never break the cycle, unaware, we are on that treadmill. While some of us figure it out but just watch it happen While others will say enough is enough and do something about it.

I for one want to make my small mark on this little blue planet I inhabit but I can only do that by prioritizing my own activities. I can't spend my limited resource of time doing other peoples work. Will the people around you understand that.

The majority won't but that is to be expected. This is a path of significance most people will not walk. 

We all have dreams. Some will take us out of our comfort zone and will require sacrifice and effort. If they are important to us we will use our most precious commodity; Time to achieve them. You heard me. Our most precious commodity is time and I for one want to be selfish as I can with it. For me that means using it to make my contribution to myself first then my family, my friends, my community and the world I inhabit.

In my earlier days as an author I'd have friends and family be presumptuous enough to want to plan my time for me and I'd let them. Wo betide anyone trying to tell them you won't be involved in the day trip or the cinema or the concert.  What could be more important than that they say?

Duh! My goals and aspirations.

Some would understand but most wouldn't.

Putting yourself first is not a negative thing, its your job to take care of yourself and go out and achieve your goals.

The Arline industry has it right. In the case of an emergency fit your own oxygen mask first before helping your family into theirs. You can't help others if your unconscious or dead.

Focus on self first because if you are not right with the world you cannot do justice to the people who depend on you.
