Easy is Dead! Difficulty is the Opportunity.

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.

Have you ever seen the messages from a majority of internet marketers who are selling a  product that in their spiel will change your life?
  • How to Create a $10k / Month Business While Working Less Than 4 Hours Per Week
  • Cash flow will obviously skyrocket from this training
  • How To Build A 6-Figure Business From Products You’ve Never Seen Or Touched
  • He Made $1,260.00 Live - Watch Today's FINAL Encore To See How
  • Want to see an 800k a month case study?
The same goes for lots of other products being offered in the marketplace.
  • Take back your Freedom - e-cigarettes
  • Life is easier with an iPhone
  • Live life unfiltered - Beer Ad
  • Whatever, wherever, whenever - Car Ad
Easy solutions, to complex issues.

What I've noticed about these messages over the years is how they have slowly transformed achievement, results, and success to an idle, by the numbers process. The Easy Philosophy is prevalent, insidious and dangerous. On a gut level we know this isn't true but we are still fooled into thinking otherwise. Easy entry, into anything, success in anything, change in anything is not as seamless as they would have you believe. In my experience the easier the opportunity the worst it is for you in regards to results and satisfaction.
Simplistic but true.

If you are scoping for ideas as an entrepreneur or as a writer, the best ideas are the hardest because the difficulty is the opportunity. That challenge forms a kind of barrier to the jokers who want maximum results with minimal effort. Don't resent the struggle embrace it and think about this. What kind of problems can you solve in 30 minutes? What kind of novel can you write in 30 days? The magnitude of your effort is directly proportional to your impact and profit.

Easy entry to any system means the Wild West with no control on quality.
It's all about the process when you want to be exceptional.

The Self Publishing world is a typical example.

Anyone with an Amazon account and nothing to say can publish a book. And there are these messages yelling to you how easy it is to create a bestselling novel. How easy it is to write a book in 30 days. Book Marketing with guaranteed results or From 3K to 13K in a month on Kindle. You just need a computer to throw up a crappy cover, dodgy editing and on Amazon, Kobo, Apple or Barnes and Noble you are an author.

Really!

To regain control in a system of easy access, you need to be exceptional. You have to put in the 10,000 hours into your craft, have developed the marketing finesse to gain readers, strive for creativity in your stories and burn with passion for what you do. Unlike a large percentage who are lured into the market with easy access and the hope of an easy business, with easy money and easy effort, you know this to be a fools errand.

What am I saying? Easy and excellence do not go together and makes sense to only lazy people looking for shortcuts. We, on the other hand, will not be fooled by the philosophy of Easy because we know it takes sacrifice and commitment.  Never forget, the difficulty is the opportunity.

Hope this helps and inspires.
