The master has failed more times than  the beginner has ever tried.

"No!" I screamed with mock anguish.

Years ago I would be crying not laughing as I am now. I knew it was going to come, it always does, to the best and worst of us. My readers in the UK have given Joshua N'Gon: The Last Prince of Alkebulahn some glowing reviews but the Urban Fantastic family in the States and Canada until a few days ago, were quiet. Then suddenly one review came through and guess what? It sucked.

Two stars. Ouch!

Its a part of the process and you can learn from them all. even if its about lessons in human nature. The one thing you’ll have to remember as an author with published material out in the world is that all sorts of different people are going to read it, with all sorts of different opinions. Art is subjective, and you’re not going to be able please everyone. Some simply don’t like your work, and they’ll tell you about it. Sometimes they do so constructively, politely, and thoughtfully. And sometimes they want to savage your dangly bits.

And that brings me to the kind of stories I create.

They are not for the closed minded.

As you know, I released a sci-fi short read a few days ago called Chauffeur.

Just because you gave me a bad review doesn't means I'm going to stalk you.

I've always said that I want my work to be unique. And so far I've been able to tap into areas seldom touched on in the realm of fantastic literature. I'm no smarter than anyone else, it's just that these themes were ignored and I've approached them from a perspective that is unfamiliar to most because of my roots. My aesthetic of patois, Caribbean supernatural tradition, culture, all things aliens, the future, and technology is not for everyone. Some will embark on the adventure with me because they have an open mind and want to see fresh new ideas in the world from creatives who are passionate about their work. Others are satisfied with the status quo. I may be unorthodox to the Grammar snobs who will never see the hard work put in by my editors and designers. But who cares it's not for them it's for you. I'm reaching the audience that I need to. I'm creating diverse and accessible sci-fi and horror fiction, for you guys.

We are all readers and writers and share a love for books, fantastic fiction, film, and TV. Every week you take the time out to look at or read my thoughts on life, creative work and how to be the best we can be. Our relationship has developed, but I want to hear your thoughts in the form of  reviews. Your silence is making me wonder, if I'm alone in this,

Engage with me.

For those of you who have not read any of my longer form work, I got to ask why especially if you're a subscriber to my emails and newsletter. Go out and find something you like and read it. Too much for you? Chauffeur gives you an opportunity to ease into my world. It's a more digestible form of a story that you can finish quickly and review from the point of view of someone who understands where I'm coming from as a trusted subscriber.

Get involved.

Buy it, review it and spread the word

Peace, Love and Power

P.S Would you be so kind to take 2 minutes to leave me a quick review on any of my books below that you have read? It would help immensely.
Thank you.
