Do not judge me by my successes,
judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up.
— Nelson Madela
What do you do when things are not going your way but falling apart?
You know your on the right path. You have a plan and made goals. You're making the sacrifices and working hard but you just can't seem to make headway. Then you are side swiped with the
unexpected,
Been there, done that.
It's tough and if your not in it for the right reasons, it makes it even worst.
We all have periods like this in our life but the trick is how do we manage them.
Resilience is the buzzword that has been banded about as another important character trait that needs to be added to your personal arsenal for successful living. Just because its in vogue now doesn't mean it wasn't always an important factor.
It's strange but when things get tough for me, I feel like I want to
hibernate. Ride out the difficult period in the warm embrace of my bed. The reality though, is I step back for a minute, to assess my position and prepare my plan of action.. Oh, and that minute, could be an hour and that hour could be a day and that day could be a week. But the important thing is I take a breath. I don't know about you guys but I have to remind myself what is important to me. We all need a 'Why' that is bigger than our challenges because with a big enough 'Why' the pain you're
experiencing now, will begin to make sense.
