You can choose courage or you can choose comfort but you cannot choose both.

Happy Saturday Peeps
As you must have seen from my tweets last week end
I attended Eastercon 2017 in the Hilton Metropole Birmingham. I promised myself for 2017 to be the year I step out of my comfort zone and confront my fears. Conventions are the natural places I should be meeting readers and making connections. But I have never consistently made an effort to do that. I've always heard good things about these events but even for a Speculative fiction writer whose goal is to reach as many people as possible. I never took the plunge. I
let fear limit me. It's easier being praised or judged from the safety of your desk or office than to face real people.
This is the kind of fear you have after months of hard creative work, that you hope against hope, what you have done will find an audience This is the kind of fear that, regardless of the path you choose, your success is intertwined with others - your readers. It's a love circle, where you spend time to provide quality work and your readers spend time and
money to acquire it.
