Ideas are worth nothing, without Execution

“The reason that art (writing, engaging, and all of it) is valuable is precisely why I can’t tell you how to do it. If there were a map, there’d be no art, because art is the act of navigating without a map.” — Seth Godin

Hey Urban Fantastic Family

It's midway through February and its all coming together but not with the expected challenges. The book ideas are coming thick and fast but I learned something over the years about ideas.

They are not assets.

I come across writers all the time who almost require you to  sign a NDA for them to share their idea with you because in their mind the high concept premise will be stolen and someone else will write their literary opus. But ideas are everywhere, held by everyone and have no significance without execution. Entrepreneurs say it all the time but results are what matter. And without results you have nothing.

Like everyone I have ideas but until I act on them, they are worth nothing.

Here's an idea I had while at the barbers in West London a few weeks back.

It's a supernatural/action thriller with a bit of a different take on monster hunters. I have a page completed and I think it will be a full length novel or novella.

It's passed the idea stage and now it's a worked upon reality. As simple as that.

Don't get caught up at the idea stage peeps. Bring those babies into reality by taking action. No matter how small the action is, if its consistent then you are in the top 10% of winners.

Don't forget that.

What do you think of the cover design for Headhunters?
