They just won’t admit it.
They drown it out with obligations, expectations, and the pressure to look like they’re doing “the right thing.” They’re chasing a version of success that photographs well — not one that feels true.

But here’s the paradox: the minute you stop pretending you don’t know what you want, life starts whispering answers you can finally hear.

The problem isn’t ignorance. It’s fear.

Fear of disappointing people. Fear of failure.

And the quiet, private fear of actually getting what you asked for — because what happens then?

Likewise, irritation is like a compass. When something in your world feels off — inefficient, unjust, or small — that frustration is your internal system saying, “This doesn’t align with who I am.” Don’t bury that signal. Examine it. It’s trying to show you your values.

My fictional worlds are built on signals — characters following faint inner calls through chaos. But real life is no different. The truth doesn’t announce itself with trumpets. It slips in through emotion, curiosity, and frustration. You decode it by paying attention.

Thinking Won’t Save You. Acting Will.

You can’t think your way into clarity.

You have to live your way into it.

I used to overanalyse everything — new projects, creative directions, relationships — as if I could calculate certainty. I called it “being responsible.” Really, it was fear dressed up as logic.

Half the time, the only way to know what you want is to try something and feel the feedback.

Write the two hundred bad words. Launch the tiny side project. Have the awkward conversation. That’s how life speaks back to you.

William James once said, “Action and feeling go together.” In other words, clarity doesn’t precede movement — it emerges from it.

So don’t wait to be sure. Be curious instead.

What You Do for Free Is Who You Are

Pay attention to what you do when nobody’s paying you, watching you, or applauding you.

That’s your unfiltered self.

When I’m between books, I still build worlds in my head — imagining cities, rituals, and people who don’t exist yet. Nobody’s asking me to. Nobody’s paying me for it. But I can’t not do it. That’s how I know it’s mine.

What’s your version of that?

Sketching? Tinkering? Organising? Fixing broken things just because it feels right?

That’s your raw material for meaning. Not the spreadsheets or the to-do lists — the acts you do out of pure instinct.

Clarity Isn’t Found. It’s Earned.

Wanting more from life isn’t selfish. It’s honest.

The goal isn’t to want less. It’s to like better.

Your desires evolve because you do. There’s no forever purpose, just a series of living “mini-whys” that keep you alive and engaged. The only mistake is pretending you don’t know who’s calling you next.

So stop asking, “What should I do?”

Ask instead, “What feels true right now?”

Say it. Write it. Pursue it — even in the smallest, clumsiest way.

Because the truth doesn’t reveal itself to those who wait.

It reveals itself to those who move.

You already know what you want.

You’ve known for a while.

You just haven’t trusted yourself enough to believe it.
