In the Days of Dread - Futuristic Thriller.
Early business achievement created a virtuous cycle, where success bolstered confidence, attracted investment, and enhanced market position, ultimately leading to
further success.
So what does all this mean for us, Gentle Readers?
It means you need to pursue success by having belief in yourself. I consider myself a writer because the label I attach to myself through experience and associated behaviours confirms that. We tend to stick with these labels, so whatever we say about ourselves must empower us. With that in mind, it’s just a matter of time before your positive labels bring certain expectations into reality. And no matter if your successes
are big or small, you need to ‘Leverage’ the hell out of them.
Early successes in writing created momentum for me. I used these opportunities to build my reputation, attract attention and learn. I was a novice then, but I’m getting better at it.
Success breeds confidence. Positive feedback and achievements can reinforce one’s belief in one’s abilities, helping one tackle more ambitious projects and push one’s creative boundaries.
It’s a self-perpetuating machine that will grow your
success one step at a time by exploiting every advantage you are given.
Here are the four things I leveraged.
1. Maximize Exposure: Actively promote your successes through social media, your website, and any marketing materials. Don’t be shy about celebrating your wins.
2. Network: Use early achievements to network with other writers, editors, and industry
professionals. Attend literary events, join writing groups, and participate in workshops.
3. Continuous Improvement: Treat each success as a stepping stone. Use the feedback and experience gained to improve your craft continuously. Stay open to learning and evolving as a writer.
4. Diversify Efforts: Explore different genres, formats, or multimedia projects. Success in one area can give you the confidence and credibility
to venture into new creative ventures.
What small or large successes can you leverage so your success becomes a self-perpetuating machine?
By understanding and leveraging the principle that success breeds more success, you can strategically build a flourishing career and continue to grow. You’ll know you’ve built a Self-Perpetuating Machine when your self-belief and optimism prevent you from accepting failure.
That, my friend, is when the student becomes the
master.
Until next time, keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground.
Peace, love and power.
