Whenever synchronicity shows itself in my life, it blows my mind every single time.
My first thought is always how astronomically complex the events in our lives are and how humble it makes me feel. Then, invariably, I remembered something about the Navajo tradition of rug weaving, which made an impression on me. Years ago, I read a beautiful article about the process of weaving a Native American rug. The process was so analogous to how I see life unfolding for me; it was scary.

The beginning of a rug starts with a single thread. This thread represents our birth, the starting point from which the complexity of our life begins to unfold. Each choice we make, and every challenge we encounter adds another thread to the weave, gradually forming the pattern that will define our existence.

I don’t use the term lightly because in my own life and observing the lives of others, I’ve come across watershed moments and synchronicity events. When you have a goal, and you’re working towards it, one thing you can be sure of is unexpected circumstances and occurrences will just appear in your life that will move you closer to your goals or force you to decide to give up or to go all in on your dreams.

These moments, often unexpected, serve as pivotal turning points that can significantly alter our path, much like the sudden twist in a well-crafted novel. Stephen King’s experience with his now famous work “Carrie” is a classic example of such a moment—a manuscript once destined for the trash, saved by his wife and then published, catapulting him into literary fame. What if he never fished it out of the bin? Would we still be thrilled by the genius of Stephen King? These phenomena manifest in the world daily, and I’m no expert Gentle Reader, but if I can offer you a deeper understanding of how to recognise and embrace these events, I will.
