Writing original fiction without succumbing to the lure of the flavour-of-the-times mentality is definitely unsexy. Following the ebb and flow of the marketplace sounds like sound advice, but it's often the unsexy path of crafting original fiction that leads to more meaningful and lasting achievements. Writing from your heart, exploring the ideas that inspire you, and staying true to your artistic vision can result in work that stands out, captivates readers, and has the potential to become a timeless piece of literature.
