Everyone wants to achieve success as quickly as possible. It’s natural to want to see results and enjoy the fruits of your labour. Using your time to seek out shortcuts is counterproductive.
The problem with shortcuts is that they provide a false sense of progress. You may feel like you’re moving
forward, but the truth is that you’re not actually building the foundation that you need to sustain your success in the long term. You’re relying on luck, or a temporary boost, to get ahead.
In order to achieve true success, you must put in the work. This means developing the skills, habits, and mindset necessary for success. It also means being patient and persistent. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but with hard work and dedication, it
is achievable, even if it’s not guaranteed.
When you focus on the process, you’re more likely to develop the resilience and persistence required to grow.
Trying to avoid the hard work by looking for all of the “keys”, you’re only wasting time, procrastinating, and letting yourself down. And as discouraging as this may be, you can’t guarantee that putting the work in will mean you’re going to succeed.
But not putting in the work means you will lose 100% of the time. How can you learn important lessons about yourself, your strengths and your weaknesses if you’re always looking for shortcuts?
Success is a journey, not a destination, and the best way to reach your goals is to focus on the process, stop wasting time on shortcuts and enjoy the journey along the way.
All you have to do is
take the work seriously, and you do have to battle through it. There are no “keys to success” — it’s all bullshit. You need to focus, you need to get your hands dirty, and you need to get it done.
