Don't underestimate your ability to make a difference. I used to believe the same, thinking as an average person on an Island in the Caribbean, what impact could I
have? But I've learned that small actions can lead to significant outcomes. Don't let others discourage you from pursuing your passion and making a positive impact. You don't have to aspire to change the world, but what if you could positively influence five people. Believe in something greater than yourself and focus on solving a problem. I don't care if it's big or small; you are making a difference in the world.
What I'm trying to say is none of us has any excuses. We all can make marvellous things happen. Starting small can lead to unexpected outcomes. Writing a one-page comic for my friends in class has led me to explore my
imagination through books. The key to making a difference is taking action, starting with inspiring just one person, who could be a family member or friend. Find a mission you care about and work on it after hours, using every opportunity to engage with people and spread your message. Lead by example, demonstrating how others can create change by solving problems with their own actions. Be the light in someone else's darkness, and you could make a difference without even realizing
it.

Researchers found that crime could be lowered if less than 1% of the population
meditated. A town in England where Transcendental Meditation was taught and practised was studied for their relative crime rate to those who meditated. Over five years, the crime rate went from being the third highest to the lowest of the eleven metropolitan areas studied. If we can reduce crime through meditation, perhaps world peace is within our
reach?
Wow!
I believe we can positively affect our world by how we think and act. If we can influence the world around us through thought, what can we do by taking action? It's time to stop talking and doing. Lead by example and demonstrate to those who complain how they can make a positive impact by taking a leaf out of your book. Most of us will never found a company or a charity nor
make any significant scientific breakthroughs. But we can all achieve an incredible amount by using our time and resources smartly.
What are you going to do to make a difference in the world?
