But what could be more important than our purpose?
We are among a generation that considers instant gratification as normal. If you canāt get it now or see the results quickly, then itās not worth doing.
I've been bombarded by instant gratification messages, so much so that when I think of the everyday steps required to be good, great or extraordinary at your craft, it sounds like an outdated concept. Iām old enough to know itās not antiquated but a foundational life principle that does not suddenly fall out of fashion when times and perspectives change.Ā

Taking small daily actions towards success is like the law of gravity. You may
not like it; you may think it stupid that free-falling objects accelerate at 9.807 m/s2, but it doesnāt matter. Gravity will act on you whether you like it or not.
Lucky for us, itās never too late to start, but the effects are dictated by the time we have left. And none of us knows how long that will be, so if you have dreams, why not start the process now?
Iāve met many people who want to make a change. They know their habits arenāt getting them where they want to go, but being stuck in place is less intimidating than the prospect of change itself.
Start small and build up momentum. I know many of us canāt see the point of starting small. But every action is significant; the key has always been consistency. Change your thinking from instant reward to slow, consistent
growth.

John C. Maxwell said it well;
āThe secret of your success is determined by your daily agenda. It all comes down to what you do today.ā
Ā
Wake up in the morning with an objective in mind. Better yet, have your one main thing mapped out for completion and attack it as soon as possible. When that's complete work your way down your priority
list and make it a daily ritual, or at least strive to make it so.
Ā
I believe that when we make a promise to ourselves and find a way to do the actions that lead to success, we are opening up the door to possibility.
Ā
And remember this no matter what popular media say, you are not what you think, Ā you are not what you say, you are what you do.
Ā
Be your own hero.
