From your experiences and exploration of the world, what things are you drawn to do? Something you have a fascination for but you’re not indulging in it. Something that will give your life purpose. If you haven’t identified that dream yet, chances are you are sharing someone else’s dream, and that’s not acceptable.
Keep looking. Keep asking questions. Keep trying new things. Your dream is out there for you. There is nothing more important than living every day as you want to live it. Once you find them follow your dreams and no one else’s. Do what you want, and let no one tell you what you should do with your life.
Don’t fall into the trap of comparing your genuine dreams with anybody else’s. As Steve Harvey said, “Your dream wasn’t
given to your Momma or your friend; it was given to you alone.” Also, I think Richard Bach said, “You are never given a dream without also being given the power to make it true.”
Just make sure it’s your dream.
This week gentle reader, set aside some time alone and start listing the things you dream of being or doing in your heart of hearts. Mature thinkers will not limit their potential; they understand
some things may be out of their reach, not because it’s not possible, but fundamentally it’s not your dream.
Life’s too short to spend pursuing someone else’s vision or pretending to be someone you’re not. Embrace your true self and live life authentically!
Be your own hero.
