Are my plans and goals materialising as I hoped for?
Some yes but the majority No. I have a lot of work to do.
Am I happy with the quality of my life?
Yes, but there is always room for improvement.
I keep coming back to the quote by Albert Einstein, who said: "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used to create them."
That is a profound thought that applies to how our goals materialise in our lives.
Let's think about that for a minute.
According to Einstein's theory, the goals I haven't been able to bring closer to realisation require a different type of thinking. So whatever I've been doing, I need to stop, reassess and attack it from a different angle, bringing to bear fresh thought to the problem. It's easier said than done because we're attached to the decisions we make even when we aren't getting the results we're looking for.
Thinking is a difficult task that most of us try to ignore. If we can get through life without really testing our mental muscles, we will.
Lazy thinking is not just for the truly lazy. It affects those of us who class ourselves as thinkers. We must push ourselves because our default state is to do the least amount of work possible. It doesn't matter what you've created up till now. It doesn't matter how old you are and whether you believe your life will never improve. You must let go of lazy thinking to step into the life that is waiting for you.
Switch up your thoughts.
I wish I could give you a formula that works. Something that was a sure-fire way, a step by step process that produces the kind of thinking that can produce results that work for you. Unfortunately, I can't. All I can advise is to keep moving towards the life you imagine. Spend time daily contemplating and nurturing this imagined life, feeding it with fresh ideas and replacing those that don't work.
We can't control every aspect of our lives, no matter how we wish we could. All we can do is be very clear on what we want, don't stress the details, especially the results we cannot control, just put your work out there and let the universe do its 'ting'. When we understand we are co-creators of our life, we let go of lazy thinking, make plans, and execute. Have faith the next level of our life will make itself known to us.
